In the United States, around 50 million people are diagnosed with a mental illness and nearly 50% of patients do not respond to antidepressants or therapy for treatment. Since the 1950s and 60s, hallucinogenic drugs have been used and studied for recreational and medicinal purposes. Those studies have advanced today to new and promising research. Hallucinogens have suggested to have healing benefits to people with various mental health disorders. Conducting proper and intensive research on the medicinal promises of these substances will have a profound meaning and change for millions of people around the world.
